❤️ From the Seller:
“1997 Jaguar XK8 — The Modern Classic Grand Tourer. Unveiled as the successor to the legendary XJS, the 1997 Jaguar XK8 marked a dramatic new chapter in British motoring. Blending muscular, flowing lines with refined performance, this first-year XK8 stands out as a true emerging classic. Under the long, sweeping hood lies Jaguar's inaugural 8-cylinder engine—the smooth 4.0-liter AJ-V8 producing 290 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a responsive ZF 5-speed automatic transmission using Jaguar's signature "J-Gate" shifter, it delivers effortless, linear power with zero drama. Drawing inspiration from the iconic E-Type, the XK8 features an oval front grille, low-slung cat-like headlights, and classic proportions. Dual chrome exhaust tips and factory 17-inch alloy wheels complete the sophisticated stance. Step inside to experience British luxury at its finest. The cockpit is wrapped in rich leather and accented by a broad, polished walnut wood dash with classic recessed round analog gauges.”

🧠 Did you know?
The 1997 Jaguar XK8 marked Jaguar’s clean break from the long-running XJS and the arrival of a new grand-touring formula. Under the long hood sat Jaguar’s first in-house V8, the all-aluminum 4.0-liter AJ-V8: a 32-valve DOHC engine with variable cam phasing, factory-rated in the U.S. at 290 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque. That power went exclusively through a ZF five-speed automatic to the rear wheels—no manual was offered—producing 0–60 mph times in the mid-six-second range and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. Geoff Lawson’s bodywork revived E-Type cues in a modern GT shape, offered as both a 2+2 coupe and a convertible, with leather, wood, and independent suspension at all four corners. At launch, the coupe started around $64,900 and the convertible near $69,900, positioning the XK8 as a refined rival to German GTs rather than a raw sports car.
