Maintenance & Vehicle History
The seller purchased this C1500 only a few weeks before completing the makeover. The truck is represented as having 66,500 miles, which are original. The original Owner's manual remains in the glove box, and several keys are included. This truck had been babied rather than used heavily as a work truck. The engine compartment remains largely original, including the factory stickers, and an Interstate battery is installed. This Chevy truck runs and drives well, the A/C blows cold, and the radio, signals, horn, power accessories, lighting and other noted equipment are reported to work. There are a few small paint chips and touch-up areas, primarily on the hood and elsewhere around the body, otherwise in spectacular shape. It was previously owned by a man who purchased it from his neighbor after the original Owner passed away and soon decided he had no use for it. As a result, it is noted that the Carfax may show two Owners even though the truck was essentially a one-Owner vehicle. Located in Clarence, Iowa.
❤️ From the Seller
“1996 Chevrolet C-1500, two-wheel drive, extended cab, short bed pickup. This truck is absolutely gorgeous. We bought this truck a few weeks ago. We did all the work to it. We slammed it to the ground. We put the brand new 20-inch US Mags on it. We tinted the windows. We done the headlights. We really did a makeover on this truck. This is one gorgeous truck. 66,000 original miles. 5.7 Vorttec 350 engine under the hood. The turquoise paint on this truck is absolutely spectacular. I only found a couple little touch-up spots on this whole little on this whole truck. Put the bed cover on it. The interior in this truck is gorgeous. All gray interior. This was a technically a oneowner truck. If you looked on the Carfax, it's probably going to say two owners because the gentleman we bought the truck from um he bought it from his neighbor that passed away. And he said, "I really have no need for the truck. I just always like the truck." So, he bought the truck. We ended up buying it from him. Original owner's manual is in the glove box. say 66,000 miles on it. There's all kinds of keys or three three or four keys, I believe. Um, three door truck, which a lot of these trucks are not three door trucks. It's got the the rough and tough rubber liner mats. This truck is just absolutely stunning. the glass, the mirrors, the the bumpers, the trim, just spectacular pickup. Got a rubber mat inside the bed. Inside the bed, super clean. I don't think this truck was really ever used as a truck. It was just babied its whole life. And that's the ones you like to find. You don't want one that's been all repainted and stuff. This truck is just super super nice. Got one little spot where it was touched up right here. One little chip that touch got touched up and a couple small ones on the hood. Outside of that, this thing is just gorgeous. Beautiful crystal clear instrument panel, dome lights, all work. Truck runs amazing. The air blows ice cold. The radio works. The signals work. The bright headlight indicator works. The horn works. Power windows. Power mirrors. Air tilt cruise compass mirror. The seats are in great shape. Just check out the seats. These trucks are such good trucks. Probably one of the best trucks that GM ever made. The undercarriage. This thing is super super nice. The wheels look gorgeous on the truck. A couple one little touch-up spot here. One little touch-up spot here. I mean, outside of that, I mean, for an all original paint truck, I mean, it is just gorgeous underneath the hood. All original. All the stickers are still on it. Got an interstate battery in it. So, we put the headlights in it, the marker lights in it, turn signal lenses in it. That color is fire. This whole truck is just fire. Runs great, drives great. You're looking for a beautiful little truck, don't look any further. The whole interior in this truck's just gorgeous. Dash isn't busted up or cracked up. Just a spectacular truck. You're looking for a nice little tool around truck. Here it is. I remember these trucks back in the day. We had a bunch of these pickups. Like I say, they were always some of the best trucks ever. There's like ever no issues with these things. The only thing you ever done to these trucks, seems like, is put intake gaskets in them. I think that was about the only downfall of the Vorttec engine. All in all, in general, I mean, when I used to buy and sell these all the time, that's what we did to them little plastic clips for the cooling coolant line on the intake and intake gaskets upper and lower. That's what happened. Seemed like a GM was like that with a lot of them even with the 3800 V6 engines, the upper lower intake gaskets. I don't know what it was. I think it was the Dex Cool antifreeze maybe that always deteriorated all them gaskets. Maybe that's why they had so many problems with them when they with all their GM engines. They thought that Dex Cool anifreeze was the way to go. But I really don't think so. I'll get out and do a little walk around with you quick outside. Same way you look at it outside, it's even prettier. Man, that thing's just beautiful. I'd take this truck over a brand new truck any day of the week. What a spectacular looking truck. You know, I mean, if a guy wanted to put a little bit louder exhaust on this truck or do a little more customization to it, you sure could. But we just wanted to do it tastefully and I think we uh hit the nail right on the head.”

The 1996 Chevrolet C1500 Extended Cab was part of GM’s fourth-generation C/K pickup line and one of the later years of the popular GMT400 “OBS” generation. The C1500 designation identified the two-wheel-drive half-ton, while the extended-cab configuration added a second row of seating behind the front bench (with a passenger-side third door available on some models starting in 1996). Engine choices included Chevrolet’s 4.3-liter V6 and 5.0- and 5.7-liter V8s; for 1996 those engines were updated to Vortec versions, with the 5.7-liter 350 rated at about 255 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. The GMT400 trucks combined a more aerodynamic body with independent front suspension and remained popular with both everyday truck buyers and customizers. 1996 was one of the later model years before Chevrolet introduced the redesigned GMT800 Silverado for 1999.
