Maintenance & Vehicle History
This Camaro has approximately 4,060 miles currently showing on the odometer. This Camaro has been exceptionally well kept throughout its life and was part of the private collection of the owner of Year One. The exterior recently received a complete paint correction and coating, and the body and paint are described as being in beautiful condition, with only one very small PDR ding noted during the walkaround. The factory T-tops are in excellent condition, with the original T-top covers stored in the car. The Red interior is exceptionally well preserved, including an uncracked dash pad, clean dashboard and door panels, and a very nice headliner. Power windows and door locks work, as do the cruise control, air conditioning, rear defroster, horn, turn signals and dashboard gauges. The oil pressure, tachometer, temperature, voltage, fuel and speedometer gauges were all reported to be functional. The car drives well at highway speeds, cruises comfortably at 75 mph, brakes work well and the steering remains tight. The radio has been replaced with a Bluetooth-capable unit; the original radio is not present. The tires are reported to be in good condition, although their date codes and originality were not verified. The 1985 IROC-Z was part of the beginning of a period when Camaro performance cars became deeply tied to the look and culture of the 1980s. This example has the combination that makes an early IROC-Z particularly interesting: a 305 V8, 5-Speed Manual transmission, factory T-tops and an exceptionally low indicated mileage. With its Black and Red color combination and remarkably preserved interior and exterior, it presents as a particularly clean example of one of Chevrolet's most recognizable '80s performance cars. ❤️ From the Seller
“Gorgeous super low miles 1985 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z. This car has just 4,000 original miles on it. Has the 305. It's a 305 carbureted engine, five-speed manual transmission in this car, which is very scarce. This car is beautiful. The body, the paint, the interior. I just went through a complete paint correction and has just been coated. It is a absolute gorgeous car. As I understand it, the gentleman who owned Year 1, this was one of his cars in his private collection. It's a factory T-top car. It's a factory red interior car. Red stripes, red IROC-Z emblems. The interior is absolutely beautiful. Tilt wheel, cruise control, power windows, power door locks, It's got manual mirrors, rear window defrost, power hatch. Super, super nice car. 4,557 miles on this car. Air conditioning works. Rear window defrost, left turn, right turn, red headlight indicator, horn does have a a different radio in it. It is a Bluetooth radio. You'll notice that somebody will say, "Oh, the radio is not original." Well, no, it's not, but it's better. Dash pad is not cracked. Dash is in beautiful shape. The door panels are not cracked where they usually always cracked. They're in gorgeous shape. Power door locks work. The paint, like I say, on this car is absolutely stunning. T-tops are in great shape. The headliner is super nice. This has been a very, very nice, clean, well-kept car its whole life. The gentleman was just doing a few different things, I guess, selling some of his private cars. And you know, like I just told my buddy, where yeah, the price is going to be high, but where are you going to go buy a 4,000mi IROC-Z T-top 5-speed Camaro? Yeah, you're not all original under the hood. It's just an absolute baby doll of a car. You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer one of these cars anywhere. I have an 87 with 1,600 miles on it that comes close to it, but well, it is as as good or better, but say it's just hard to find hard to find this kind of quality car. And these cars are they're the next big thing. And I believe that these cars have continued to rise the last several years. I mean these cars I've sold these cars for $55 to $65,000. I've seen them bring 75 to $90,000 at auctions. And the five-speed manual in this car is even that more rare. I'd be interested to ask my phone, look it up, do some research anyway, and ask my phone just how many of these cars were produced. I bet it wasn't too many with a 5-speed with T-tops. Cruise control works. The air works. Power windows work. Power locks work. Set the cruise right at 75 mph. Goes right down the highway. I'm not sure if it's got BF Goodrich tires on. I didn't check the date codes on them. So, I don't know if these are the original tires in the car or not. Brakes work great. Steering's nice and tight as it should be. Got no miles on it. I'll get out and do a little walk around here outside real quick with you. Just a gorgeous car. The red stripes, the red Z28 badges, the red IROC-Z emblems. Got one small tiny little I just walking around with one tiny little PDR small little ding right here. Other than that, I don't see anything on the paint that I can even point out to you. It's just a beautiful car. It's got the original wheel locks on it. These tires, I don't know if they're original or not. Like I say, I haven't looked at the date code on them. I will. The T-top covers are in the back. If I had to guess, I'd say the T-top's hardly ever been out of this car, if ever. All the gauges work on the car. Oil pressure, tac, temperature, voltage, fuel gauge, speedometer, they all work. Car is definitely not slow either. I mean, it gets right up and goes gets right up to 75 mph in a big hurry. What a beautiful IROC-Z. 4,059 mi on the odometer.”

The 1985 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z was introduced as a performance-oriented version of the third-generation Camaro, named for the International Race of Champions (IROC) racing series. Built on the Z28 platform, the IROC-Z added upgraded suspension tuning, larger wheels and tires, and specific exterior graphics and badging. Engine choices included the 305-cubic-inch V8, with the highest-output version using advanced Tuned Port Injection (TPI) and producing 215 horsepower in automatic-transmission cars. A 5-speed manual was also available with other engine configurations. The IROC-Z helped bring the Camaro back into the performance spotlight during the 1980s and became one of the era’s most recognizable American performance cars.
