Maintenance & Vehicle History
The Seller purchased the Cutlass from a gentleman who had owned it for several years and was nearing completion of his work on the car. According to the Seller, the previous Owner had the exterior repainted and refinished, had the seats reupholstered, installed new carpeting and redone the trunk. He also reportedly said the 350 Rocket V8 had been rebuilt at some point, although no documentation was provided to verify the engine rebuild. The car is described as a clean, solid driver-quality example rather than a perfect car. The vinyl top has a couple of checking spots, there are several small touch-up areas on the exterior and one small bubble in the paint. The door panels present well overall, although the upper portions could use some additional cosmetic attention. During the test drive, the car ran well, rode nicely, shifted properly and stopped without pulling. A belt produces a slight squeal and may need tightening. The odometer shows 94,200 miles. “1974 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Now this car was belonged to a gentleman. He had this car for quite a few years and he was almost done with the car and he called us and contacted us and asked us if we'd be interested in purchasing. I said, ‘Yeah, we'd be interested in it.’ So, I went and looked at it. It's a very, very nice, clean, solid driver quality car. The paint job on it, he had this car all repainted, refinished. He had the interior all redone. The seats, well, it wasn't all redone, but he had the seats reupholstered. He had the new carpet in it. Had the trunk, like I just showed you. The trunk, he had that all redone. It's a very, very nice, clean car. These cars are kind of a cool body style and they're getting few and far between to find. So, I decided I'd buy the car from him. It's a power steering, power brakes, factory air conditioning car. The air conditioning does work. Power window car. Power windows work. The door panels. This part of it, these look really nice. This part of it, you could probably scuff that up and shoot them if you wanted to, you know. But the seats really nice. Headliner, sail panels, package tray, rear seat, all the seat belts are in it. Car sounds really good. Runs very nice. It's got a couple touch-up spots right here. Got one little bubble right here. One little touch-up spot right here, too. I mean, it's a really nice, clean car. We're not going to price this car for an ungodly amount of money.  Got a 350 Rocket V8 engine under the hood. Gentleman said it was rebuilt at one time. He didn't have any paperwork on it, but he said it was rebuilt. The vinyl top, it's got a couple spots, couple little checking spots on it. You can, I mean, it's not perfect, but it's very, very presentable. Like I say, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning. You know, we usually don't go out and look for 15 to $20,000 cars. But, you know, when the car is really nice, clean, and solid, and you're going to be able to price it for under 20 grand, you know, you really don't buy too much for under $20,000. And like I say, I think this is a great, great value for what the car is. I mean, it's pretty damn nice car. It's got the rally wheels on it. It's got Indy500 Firehawk tires on it. I'm going to go drive this car. I've only drove it from the other side of town back to here. So, I'm going to take it for a cruise down the road. See what we got here. She's pretty good looking car. Drives real well. Transmission shifts good. I don't know about the gas gauge. It says E. So hopefully, hopefully E means enough. Didn't really feel like walking a whole lot today. So, runs really well. Rides nice, too. Oh, even over all them bumps right there in that bridge. Rides good. Brakes work good. Doesn't pull when you hit the brakes. Looks like we need to tighten up one of the belts just a little bit. A little bit of squeal out of that belt. 74 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. I really like this body style. I like the curves on this car. Body lines are pretty cool. Always been a fan of these. They had the first Oldsmobiles too that were like this and I really like those a lot as well. Say not a perfect car, but a very nice, clean driver quality car. The gas gauge works.”
