Vehicle History

This 1974 Chevrolet Nova is a straightforward V8-powered driver with the classic compact-car proportions that make these Novas so appealing. Finished in Blue with a Black interior, it combines a 350ci V8, Automatic transmission and dual exhaust with Procar front bucket seats and a B&M shifter. The car is not presented as a perfect restoration, but it runs and drives well, has good power and brakes, and offers a solid starting point for someone looking for an enjoyable old-school Chevy to drive now and improve over time.

Maintenance & Vehicle History
The Nova is described as a driver-quality car that runs and drives well. The 350ci V8 has been freshened with a new camshaft and lifters, and the engine is equipped with an aluminum intake, 4-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust. The Automatic transmission is operated through a B&M shifter. During the test drive, the car was reported to drive straight with good power and brakes that work well. The exterior has an older repaint with visible patina and rust beginning to show, along with scratches along the side and on the trunk deck. The Black interior is in good condition and features Procar front bucket seats with the original rear seat retained. This Nova is best viewed as an honest driver rather than a finished show car. It has the V8 power, Automatic transmission and basic performance upgrades to make it fun on the road today, while the older paint and cosmetic imperfections leave plenty of room for a future Owner to take the car to the next level. The car is located in Brookings, South Dakota.

❤️ From the Seller
“A nice driver quality car that isn't perfect but runs and drives good. MECHANICAL- It has a 350 V8, with dual exhaust, aluminum intake and 4bbl carb. The transmission is automatic and shifted with a B & M Shifter. We have freshened up the motor with new cam & lifters. EXTERIOR- A older repaint that has some patina and rust starting to show. Also the previous owner must have upset someone as there are some scratches along the side and on trunk deck. See the video's for an up close inspection. INTERIOR-The front seats are Procar bucket seats and has original rear seat. Interior is in good condition. TEST DRIVE- It goes down the road good, drives straight , has good power and the brakes work well. A great driver that you can have fun with until you take to the next level.”

🧠 Did you know?
The 1974 Chevrolet Nova was the final year of the third-generation design introduced for 1968, which had received major updates for 1973. For 1974, it used a 250-cubic-inch inline-six and a 350-cubic-inch V8 lineup after the 307 V8 was dropped. The base 2-barrel 350 made 145 horsepower; the standard 4-barrel version made 160 horsepower; and the high-performance 4-barrel 350 (the dual-exhaust L48 block) made 185 net horsepower. While federally required 5-mph front bumpers were introduced in 1973, the 1974 model added a matching 5-mph rear bumper, creating extra bulk at both ends. A 3-speed manual or automatic was available, and a 4-speed manual could be paired with the 185-horsepower 350. It remained a simple rear-wheel-drive compact that could still be ordered with V8 power.
