Maintenance & Vehicle History
This is a really exceptional 1969 Camaro, made even more special by its incredible ownership history. The car remained with the same Owner for 49 years, and there is actual proof of that in the form of an original California “pink slip.” In the car world people often talk about the old pink slips, but you rarely see a real one anymore. This particular pink slip was issued in 1974 to the Owner from whom the car was acquired, providing clear documentation of its long-term single ownership and showing how much the car meant to him. The 350ci V8 engine was installed and built in 2013 and has less than 5,000 miles since completion, and the Muncie M20 transmission was rebuilt in 2023. The front disc brakes were added within the last year. It starts easily—key in, clutch down, and it fires right up. On the road it is very comfortable and drives nicely even at freeway speeds. The turn signals work properly and the car performs well. The vehicle has spent its life in California and is described as dry and rust free. It comes with receipts and documentation, is smog exempt and is located in Laguna, California.
🧠 Did you know?
The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro stands as the pinnacle of the first-generation pony car era, boasting the most aggressive styling, widest array of performance options, and some of the most legendary powerplants ever fitted to the platform. While mainstream Super Sport models packed potent big-blocks like the 396-cubic-inch V8, the true unicorns emerged through Chevrolet's Central Office Production Order (COPO) system—a loophole originally meant for fleet vehicles that savvy dealers exploited to install monstrous 427-cubic-inch engines. The rarest of these was the COPO 9560 ZL1, featuring an all-aluminum 427 big-block (with aluminum heads and block) officially underrated at 430 gross horsepower but capable of well over 500 hp in real-world tune; shockingly, only 69 examples were ever factory-built, making it one of the scarcest and most valuable production muscle cars in existence, often fetching seven-figure sums at auction today due to its lightweight race-bred engineering and drag-strip dominance.
