Maintenance & Vehicle History
This is a no-frills Pro Street-style Hot Rod and reports that the engine runs strong, sounds rowdy and appears healthy. The Turbo 350 makes positive shifts. During the walkaround, the seller noted that the speedometer and tachometer do not appear to be functioning, while the temperature, oil-pressure and fuel gauges are working. The steering wheel is also reported to sit crooked while driving. The truck rides very low and retains some of the driving characteristics of an older truck. It’s loud, low and unapologetically built for someone who wants an early Chevrolet pickup with some bite. This C10 shows 300 miles, with the mileage listed as exempt. It is located in Palmetto, Florida.
❤️ From the Seller
“1962 Chevrolet C10 Stepside Co Street truck. Pretty cool. It's a a deep purple metallic, nice black interior. Truck has a built up 350 aluminum heads, demon carb, has an automatic transmission hooked up to this low car shifter. four-wheel disc, rack and pinion, fourlink, bow masters. The list goes on. It's got uh Mickey Thompson skinnies in the front, big steamrollers in the back. Check it out. Sounds nice and rowdy like I like. Couple things off the bat. A couple little gremlins. It looks like there's no speedo and no tack, but the temp gauge, oil pressure, and fuel are gauges are working. Seems to be very healthy engine wise. Hit the tracks here. Sits pretty low on the ground. It drives like an old truck. Wheel is crooked. Engine's very healthy. Really positive shifts from the transmission. It is kind of a no frills hot rod race truck. Loud. Got a cage in here. That's a cool truck. Check this one out. “
🧠 Did you know?
The 1962 Chevrolet C10 Stepside was part of Chevrolet’s first-generation C/K pickup line, introduced for 1960 with a completely new cab and chassis. The traditional Stepside bed remained available alongside Chevrolet’s modern Fleetside design, and the truck featured a wider, more comfortable cab with significantly increased windshield area over earlier models. For 1962, C10 buyers could choose Chevrolet’s 235-cubic-inch inline-six, rated at 135 horsepower, or the available 283-cubic-inch V8, rated around 160 horsepower. Two-wheel-drive C10s used an independent front suspension with torsion bars, while the Stepside retained the classic separate rear fenders and exposed running boards that had characterized Chevrolet pickups for decades.
