Maintenance & Vehicle History
This Bel Air received a complete nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration by a professional restoration shop and has been driven just 42 miles since completion. The body was restored with excellent panel gaps and finished in Red and White, with all chrome, stainless trim, brightwork, emblems and glass replaced during the restoration. The engine compartment received the 350ci V8, Edelbrock intake, valve covers and carburetor, along with an aluminum Champion radiator, power steering, power brakes and Vintage Air conditioning. The interior and trunk were also completely finished, including new upholstery, carpet, door panels, headliner, trunk mat and detailed painted surfaces. The seller purchased this car and another 1957 Chevrolet from the same longtime professional body-shop owner, who reportedly completed them as the final two cars before closing his shop. Restoration receipts and invoices are included. The odometer shows 42 miles since restoration. The car reportedly drives well at highway speeds and the air conditioning blows cold. Located in Clarence, Iowa.
❤️ From the Seller: “This is one of the most requested body styles from the golden era of American design, brought back to better-than-new condition without losing the character that makes a '55 Bel Air a '55 Bel Air. 1955 Chevrolet Bel air two-door hardtop. The car has been completely nut and bolt rotisserie restored. It has 40 miles on the restoration. It was done by a professional restoration shop. This car is absolutely stunning. Beautiful red and white paint. All the chrome, all the stainless trim, all the bright work is all brand new, all the emblems, the engine, the transmission. It has power steering. It has power brakes. It has vintage heat and air conditioning. It's got aluminum Champion radiator in it. Aluminum Edel Brock intake. Aluminum uh valve covers, Edel Brock carburetor, electric choke. Say 40 miles on the odometer on the car. The undercarriage is absolutely beautiful. It's got a set of billet specialty wheels on it. 18s on the front, 20s on the rear. Car has a great stance, a great look. Be hard to find a 55 any nicer than this. Original style interior. Interior's all brand new. The carpet, the door panels, the headliner with the chrome bows. Back seats, no different. Just everything is just brand new. Super nice. Inside the trunk. No different. Brand new trunk mat. Everything's all painted up underneath the trunk mat. I got a bunch of receipts here. Invoices from when the car was done. Say just an absolute stunning car. Body gaps are just awesome on the car. Dash is beautiful. Steering column. Everything's painted up just like it should be. All the glass in the car is all new. All that stainless trim all the way around the windows. Just as good as it gets. Got disc brakes on the front of it. It's going to start it up. If you don't have the uh if you don't turn it to the fully locked position, you can wipers work. Horn works. Lights work. Dash lights work. Nice. Inside the glove box. View glove box liner. Left turn. Right turn. Bright headlight indicator. Just one gorgeous 55 two door hardtop just straight as an arrow. Bluebird hood. AC compressor kicks. AC blows cold. I say it's about as nice as you're going to find one of these 55s. Got a great stance, great look, great paint. You're looking for one that appears to be all original, you know, the interior, the exterior. The car goes right down the road. It drives great. 65 70 mph right down the highway. So, look how nice the dash trim and everything is inside this car. This was one of my all-time favorite cars growing up as a kid is a 1955 Chevrolet. You know, but you see these cars in the 50s and 60s sometimes, but they're not the same quality of a car. I mean, this car, when I put it up on the hoist, you'll really appreciate it. You'll see what I'm saying as far as it being, you know, nut and bolt rotisserie done. And it takes a lot to do a car like this. You know, the all the stainless trim inside the car, all that is just beautiful. Um, all the exterior stainless trim and chrome is beautiful. So, it's not it's not a cheap process when you're going to restore a car like this. I'm sure the guy had well into the hundreds invested in this car when they restored it, and it's got 42 miles on it now. So, I bought this car and another 57 Chevrolet from the same gentleman and he ran a professional body shop for years and these are the last two cars that he done. So, closed the shop up. These are the last two and he finally let them go. And I tell you what, they just done a spectacular job. This This and the 57 are just both just superb.”

The 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Hardtop, officially called the Sport Coupe, was one of the cars that launched the legendary Tri-Five era. Completely redesigned for 1955, it introduced Chevrolet’s new 265-cubic-inch small-block V8, the company’s first successful postwar V8, and paired it with dramatically cleaner “shoebox” styling and a pillarless hardtop body. The Bel Air Sport Coupe was also one of the most popular and recognizable body styles of the 1955 lineup, with 185,562 produced.
