Finished in Black with a Black Cordova vinyl top over a Black interior, it is powered by its original 400ci V8 paired with a Turbo Hydra-Matic Automatic transmission and a 3.23:1 rear axle. Showing 84,005 exempt miles, this professionally restored GTO combines factory originality with carefully selected performance upgrades while remaining true to its heritage. Maintenance & Vehicle History
This GTO received a comprehensive Frame-Off, Nut-and-Bolt restoration completed over a 26-year period by its longtime owner, who rebuilt the driveline and restored the electrical, mechanical, cosmetic and interior components to a high standard. The original numbers-matching 400ci YS engine was professionally overhauled .030 over and upgraded with 10.5:1 compression, a Crane camshaft, Edelbrock intake manifold and PerTronix electronic ignition while retaining its original character. Originally sold new in Williamsburg, Kentucky, the car spent many years stored and maintained in South Florida. According to the documentation provided, only 4,806 GTOs were built for 1973, with just 282 Sport Coupes produced in this factory color and equipment combination, making this one of the rarest 1973 GTO configurations. Located in Milford, CT.

🧠 Did you know?
In 1973, the Pontiac GTO became the rarest classic “Goat” of them all, with just 4,806 examples built as a performance option on the redesigned LeMans Colonnade body. Its distinctive hood featured functional-looking NACA ducts intended for ram-air induction, yet federal noise rules forced them to remain purely ornamental—only about ten dealer-installed kits ever made them work. A potent Super Duty 455 had been promised and even named a magazine’s performance car of the year after testers drove a prototype, but that engine never reached production GTOs, leaving buyers with a refined, best-handling version yet of the legend, powered by a 230-hp 400 or optional 250-hp 455 V8.
