Vehicle History

The final year of the C3 Corvette came with a special send-off, and Chevrolet built the 1982 Collector’s Edition with several details that distinguish it from the standard Corvette. This example combines the Collector’s Edition package with a 5.7L Cross-Fire fuel-injected V8, 3-Speed Automatic transmission, T-Tops and a Silver exterior and interior. With 23,201 miles showing, leather seating and a long list of factory equipment, it offers a very representative look at Chevrolet’s last C3 Corvette before the completely redesigned 1984 model arrived.

Maintenance & Vehicle History
This Corvette has 23,201 miles showing, with the mileage listed as exempt. The seller reports a clean Carfax and describes the car as one of 6,759 Collector’s Edition Corvettes built for 1982. Equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, power steering, power front disc brakes, power windows, power locks. As the final C3 Corvette, the 1982 Collector’s Edition represents the closing chapter of a generation that had been in production since 1968. The special-edition combination of Silver exterior and interior, T-Tops and leather seating gives this car its own identity, while the Cross-Fire-injected 5.7L V8 and automatic transmission reflect Chevrolet's final evolution of the C3 drivetrain. With its low indicated mileage, clean Carfax and Collector’s Edition status, this Corvette offers a chance to own one of the final C3s in a configuration that clearly belongs to 1982. It’s a car that sits at the end of an important Corvette era, just before Chevrolet moved the model into its next generation. This Corvette is located in Apopka, Florida.

🧠 Did you know?
The 1982 Chevrolet Corvette marked the end of the third-generation Corvette era, and Chevrolet sent it out with the special Collector Edition. Every 1982 Corvette used Chevrolet’s new L83 350-cubic-inch Cross-Fire Injection V8, rated at 200 horsepower, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The Collector Edition featured distinctive Silver Beige paint, a special interior, bronze-tinted glass, removable roof panels, and unique wheels, along with an opening rear hatch that was a first for the Corvette. Chevrolet built 25,407 Corvettes for 1982, including 6,759 Collector Editions. The 1982 model year was also significant because it was the first full year of Corvette production at the new Bowling Green, Kentucky facility, after the last St. Louis-built Corvette (a 1981 model) rolled off the line on July 31, 1981. Bowling Green remains the home of Corvette production today.
