🧠 Did you know?
The M151A2 MUTT was the final and most refined version of the M151 series of tactical trucks that served U.S. forces for decades. While the M151 series, initially a Ford design, featured a monocoque body and four-wheel independent suspension for improved ride quality and cross-country travel, earlier models were prone to rollovers. The M151A2, first introduced by Ford in 1969, corrected this flaw with a revised, safer semi-trailing arm rear suspension. AM General took over production in 1972. The M151A2 was powered by a Ford-designed 2.3L inline-four engine producing 71 horsepower and was used extensively in Vietnam and beyond. Today, these examples are valued by collectors for their historical significance and unique design.
