🧠Did you know? The 1968 Pontiac GTO Convertible marked the beginning of the GTO's second generation, debuting an all-new curvier body design on a shorter 112-inch wheelbase. The convertible model offered open-air driving with bucket seats and optional woodgrain trim. This model introduced the revolutionary "Endura" body-color front bumper, a first on a U.S. mass-production car. It was designed to withstand minor impacts without damage. Under the hood, a standard 400ci V8 produced 350 horsepower. Available upgrades included the 400 H.O. (360 hp) and a mid-year upgrade to the rarer Ram Air II (366 hp). A 265 hp economy V8 was also offered. The 1968 GTO was even named Motor Trend's Car of the Year.
